Welcome to the Cabin!

Abe’s Country Village is a motel and gift shop located in Brandenburg, KY. ACV is a small family owned and operated business since 1984.

Theodore ‘Buck’ Aebersold is the founder of ACV. Buck was born on August 31, 1933. Buck grew up to be a businessman, he was a visionary and an entrepreneur. He was a butcher and delivered ice and groceries for Aebersold’s Market. He opened Buck’s Bargain Supply in Downtown Brandenburg in 1963. He was in the process of building ACV in 1984 when Buck’s Bargain Supply burnt down. He had originally envisioned ACV’s gift shop to be a restaurant and readjusted his plan after the incident.

On February 14, 1951, he married Phyllis Jupin Aebersold. They had three children Gaye (Gary) Chapman, Carol (John) Whalen, and John Aebersold. They had five grandchildren Gabe (Jenn) Chapman, Gabrey (Adam) Travis, Caressa (Matt) Wiese, Austin (Jessie) Chapman, and Jayce Whalen. They had four great-grandchildren Callie, Atika, Chance, and Presley.

On January 26, 2013, Buck passed away at the age of 79.

ACV was closed for one year until grandchildren Gabe and Jenn approached about buying. ACV was reopened in August of 2014. Gabe worked at ACV like the rest of the grandchildren. He started at the age of 12, mowing, taking out the garbage, helped with deliveries, and other duties.

Gabe and Jenn have owned ACV since 2014.
